Special Programs
The 2011-12 Season

Studio 10 was founded to provided Richmond and surrounding communities with an opportunity to experience a different kind of theatre than is typically seen on RCT’s Main Stage.

Studio 10 produces plays that are perhaps less known to local audiences.  Contemporary works and classic-but-seldom-seen gems are equally at home on the Studio 10 stage.  Mature themes, as well as adult language and situations in some Studio 10 productions, mean that they are generally more suitable for the adult audiences.

Tickets go on sale eleven days prior to the production. All seats are reserved.

2011-12 SEASON

Kimberly Akimbo

By David Lindsay-Abaire; Produced in Cooperation with Dramatists Play Service, Inc.

Kimberly AkimboKimberly is a sensitive and intelligent 16 year-old with just a few minor problems to deal with. She is saddled with a funny and loving, but incredibly dysfunctional family. Her father is an alcoholic, her mother a hypochondriac and her aunt seems bent on introducing her to a life of crime. Finally, she has possibly discovered her first love, while dealing with a medical condition that ages her four times the normal rate. Engaging, tender and often uproarious!

Never the Sinner

By John Logan; Produced in Cooperation with Samuel French, Inc.

Never the SinnerDrawn from one of the most famous court cases of all time, Never the Sinner alternates between courtroom drama and character study of the two defendants on trial for their lives, Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb. The famous trial attorney of the era, Clarence Darrow, represents the two boys in the 1924 Chicago trial, and fights not to prove their innocence, but to spare them from execution. This is a superb look at one of the most interesting legal cases of all time.
